During my years of product design, development, and production, I have had access to exceptional textiles and trims from around the world. The mission of 2NFrom™ is simple — to use these sustainable fabrics and existing materials to create beautiful handcrafted accessories. I continue to source materials from unexpected places that inspire and bring character into each product I make. Creative imagery flows into expressions of wearable art.
As an artisan member of our local Northern California Fibershed, I am now making hats and bags using local sheep wool, local goat hides, and locally grown naturally colored cotton from Sally Fox (Foxfibre®). I have had the pleasure to work with local fiber farmers procuring wool fleece to felt and make into my products.
"like a pearl, the defect becomes the prize"
Each hat (and its wearer, mind you) has a life of its own — made with sustainable materials, made to fit, made to enjoy wearing, made by me for you!
I make hats — one hat at a time. The materials I use are sustainable, including hemp, organic cotton, linen, silk, and now using local Fibershed felted wools. Classic styling, functional designs, and wearable and comfortable fabrics are all features of my hats.
I can trace my past from a lineage of accomplished artists. My great grandmother, Hetty Anderson, was a hat maker in Ventura, California in the 1890's. I discovered this after I starting making hats in my Sausalito studio over thirty years ago. I continue to honor the artists of my heritage.
All products are designed and crafted here in my studio in the redwoods in Gualala, California, USA.
